UNION FOREIGN MISSIONARY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION

Union Foreign Missionary Baptist Association (UFMBA) was established in 1908 by Rev. John Kayen, Oakhill Baptist Church, Fort McCoy, Florida.    Fort McCoy is an unincorporated community in Marion County, Florida and is located northeast of Ocala.  Since the founding of the Association there has been twelve moderators.  The current Moderator is Rev. Dr. Frank O'Harroll, Sr.  Dr. O'Harroll is the Pastor of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church located in Winter Haven, Florida where he has served as Senior Pastor for the last twenty-five years.  Dr. O'Harroll is in his second year as Moderator of UFMBA.

Union Foreign hosted the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. (NBCA), the third largest African-American Christian denomination in the United States, in the year 1969 at Mt. Zion Progressive Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, FL.  Rev. L. S. McCree served as host pastor.

Union Foreign Missionary Baptist Association has hosted the Progressive M&E Baptist State Convention eight times since 1924.  Seven members of UFMBA has held national office positions within the NBCA.

In 2015, UFMBA and the Congress of Christian Workers (CCW) combined organizations. UFMBA held its 108th Annual Session and the 6th Unified Session with the Congress of Christian Workers, Rev. Troy A. Adams, Sr., Director in June 2017.  UFMBA and CCW meet the second week in June each year.

Union Foreign will convene in June 2018 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Clearwater, FL, Moderator Emeritus Rev. Dr. Fleming Tarver, Pastor.  Hope to see you there!
